Good friends of Michael and his wife, Amanda, Christine (a Physician Assistant at Penrose Hospital Emergency Department) and John Randono (a retired cardiothoracic surgeon), offered to travel to Africa with Michael and Amanda to help provide the kids and widows a basic medical check-up and support. Another buddy, Jen (former medical technologist and project manager) will be working with the team on logistics and planning. Family members of Christine’s; Nicole, Joanie and John will also be helping out with the children, fundraising and operation of the clinic.
All volunteers are paying their own way. The entire team is involved in raising funds for additional Kenyan medical/security support, medical supplies from Project Cure and medications from within country. Not her first international clinic, Christine is passionate about seeing as many children and widows as possible in our brief time in Kisumu and Bondo and providing them with the supplies and medications they need. An act of faith, compassion and joy has inspired her and the whole team to help Phoebe help the children at Salem school, the orphanage and the widows at Bondo.
